The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's triumph, the gifted performers also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself received Studio of the Year. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by experts.
