Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into reports of questionable actions involving women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
