The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition over two years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
